	Upcoming Events at RCE

	March 1 - Rockin' Roadrunners Rock the Rockets The Rockin’ Roadrunners have been invited to perform at the Houston Rockets game on March 1. We are so excited! The Rockin’ Roadrunners are our 5^th grade drumming and movement group and this year is our 5^th year. Last year we had so many 5^th grade students wanting to participate that we formed 2 groups – one for the fall and one for the spring. Both of these groups will be performing for the Rockets game. Thank you to PTA for the financial support each year.
	March 3 - RCE night at Chick-Fil-A A protion of the purchase price of meals purchased at the Kirkwood & Westheimer Chick -fil-A betwwen 5 and 8:30 will be donated to RCE.
	March 5 - PTA meeting and Testing Discussion Please make plans to attend the PTA meeting this Friday as we will have a special guest speaker. Linda Kleb, our new assistant principal, will share information regarding elementary school testing and grading. Have you ever wondered what a benchmark test is or what TAKS really means? If so, then join us for this informative presentation. Ms. Kleb will also discuss grading guidelines and will answer questions. At 9:30 AM the regular PTA meeting will begin. At this month's meeting, the Nominating Committee will present the 2010-2011 RCE PTA Executive Board, and the By-laws Committee will present our updated by-laws and standing rules. We will vote on a Project Review Request and will discuss volunteerism. Join us for a great meeting.
	March 6 - Stratford Garage Sale The Stratford High junior class is preparing for their annual garage sale to be held Saturday, March 6^th from 8 am – 2 pm. The garage sale is a fundraiser for the Junior Class Prom. We offer this night to all students at no cost. Many of our students would not be able to attend otherwise. If your New Year’s resolution was to de-clutter your life, we would love your junk/treasures! We will be collecting donations Saturday, Feb. 20^th and 27^th from 9 am- noon at the storage units in the south parking lot off Dairy Ashford. If you have a garage full of treasures, contact us at shsjgs11@gmail.com or 281.651.6758 to schedule a pick-up time. (Note: We are also collecting moving boxes, hangers, and shopping bags with handles.)
	March 10 - 5th Grader Memory CD/DVD due 5th Graders need to return their completed Fifth Grade CD/DVD Project Form by March 10. Also, parents are requested to send in 10-15 photos of their student centered around Rummel Creek activities. Please submit all pictures on CD or flash drive. All items must be labeled with the child's name and teacher. Also, send in one photo of the student as a portrait that shares the interest/personality of the child. Again, please send in on a CD or flash drive by Wednesday, March 10. If you would like to help the students assemble their memory page for the CD, then please contact Katherine Dawson at kathdawson@comcast.net. We will be working with the students on March 22, 23, 29 and 30. We need four parents per class.
